Survive and Thrive

Smartphone & Pocket PC magazine survives and thrives thanks to a great group of volunteers, advertisers, our Best of Everything marketing partners, and the Usedhandhelds.com Web site. The major players in the Windows Mobile world (i.e. Microsoft, Verizon, Dell, Cingular, HP, Sprint. T-Mobile) benefit greatly from our existence and have the most to gain by talking to our progressive and enthusiast mobile technology readership. Unfortunately, our 60K-plus circulation seems to be a little too small to show up on their marketing radar. They seem to feel that it's not worth the trouble of mapping out an advertising strategy that includes us.

This difficulty has a silver lining for our readers. In order to continue publishing Smartphone & Pocket PC magazine, we have to rely on reader support and come up with better ways to serve you. I describe below some of the improvements you'll see this year, in the magazine and on our Web site. We will continue to introduce new and exciting initiatives as well expand existing services—to provide you more value for the dollars that you spend with us.
