i-mate SP5 and SP5m both have Wi-Fi

I'm a devoted subscriber to your publications, going all the way back to the first issue of the HP Palmtop Paper in January of 1992. I really enjoyed the most recent Buyer's Guide. However, there is a mistake at the end of the description of the i-mate SP5m. It states that the related i-mate SP5 lacks dedicated media buttons and Wi-Fi. It is true that the SP5 lacks the media buttons, but it does have Wi-Fi. When the SP5 series was in development by HTC, they almost decided not to put Wi-Fi in the SP5m, since it was targeted at a younger crowd and emphasized music playback. In the end, however, HTC decided it was easier (and obviously cheaper) to build one chipset for both the SP5 and 5m. Other than this oversight, the issue looks great. Keep up the good work!

Memory issues with my Pocket PC

I am in sales, and I love the convenience of keeping all my contact information with me. I have a lot of contacts on my device, and the Contacts database file is occupying about 38 MB of internal storage space. I don't have any third-party programs installed that are taking up internal memory. Lately my Pocket PC keeps having me close programs when I attempt to use Internet Explorer Mobile. Apparently, the size of the Contacts database file is the problem. I do have an additional 2 GB of storage space available in the form of SD and CF memory cards.

Is there a way to adjust system Registry on the Pocket PC so that I can move the Contacts database to one of my storage cards? This would allow me to continue using my fabulous machine for contact organization. I don't need to sync my Contact information with my laptop PC; I just need to clear out the Pocket PC's memory for program usage.

Because of the way the Pocket PC operating system was designed, the database files that store Calendar, Contacts, and Tasks cannot be stored on a flash card. One work-around would be to increase the amount of internal RAM on your device to 128 MB, which would increase the amount of file storage space you have available for the internal databases. If you're interested in this option, check out Pocket PC Techs (http://www.pocketpctechs.com). They offer RAM upgrades for a variety of Pocket PCs.
Another option is to use a third-party contact manager like Pocket On Schedule (http://www.odysseyinc.com), which uses a different database file format that can be stored on a CF or SD card.
