From the Judges of the Pocket PC magazine Best Software Awards 2004
Many on our panel of over 80 expert judges love to play games. Like everyone else, they have their favorites, and like everyone else, they are not afraid to share their opinions about them. The purpose of publishing these comments is to give insights into a variety of products-not to show how the judges voted. The winners and finalists can be found on our Web site (http://www.pocketpcmag.com/awards/main.asp). For the sake of brevity, we've included only one comment per product and edited them for clarity and brevity.
Action Games
G-Pod
http://www.aimproductions.be
One of my all time favorites, G-Pod (or similar titles) were found on most games consoles from the 1980's. Move the pod around the screen with gravity affecting your every move. Blast enemies and travel through a fun packed 50 levels!
Insaniquarium

This very enjoyable game is one of my all-time favorite! As the name indicates, this one is set in an aquarium populated with insane characters. The addictive game play makes you want to come back for more!

Stuntman Evolution

This unique and well-implemented game may not appeal to those who thrive on pure action. However, if you like action blended with equal measures of strategy and problem solving, you'll enjoy the many challenges present in the game.

Stuntman Evolution provides equal measures of strategy, problem solving, and action.
Hellfire: Apache vs Hind
http://www.astraware.com
Hellfire is the best action game out there, with great graphics, addictive game play, and an easy to use steering system. It's one of those games which will never disappear from my Pocket PC.

Board Games
Monopoly and Scrabble
http://www.handmark.com
These titles are well-done electronic versions of two of the most popular board games of all time. Handmark's asking price is a little steep-hopefully it will come down in time.

Monopoly and Scrabble-classic board games available for the Pocket PC.
Travel Collection

This collection of six classic board games has been beautifully optimized for the Pocket PC's small color screen, audio capability, and animation potential. The playing area is clear, crisp and uncluttered, and playing the games is a real delight. I quickly became hooked on the 3-D version of Tic-Tac-Toe! Top marks to Pocket Adventures for giving us a suite of board games that work so well on the small screen. A perfect accompaniment to any journey! "
