A database is simply a collection of information stored and organized on a computer. A number of database programs are built into your Handheld PC, including Calendar, Contacts and Tasks. In addition, a variety of third-party database programs are available, including the following:
- Electronic wallets -- let you store and organize the information you normally keep on cards in your wallet.
- General-purpose list managers -- help you track and organize lists (i.e., a list of items to pack, a list of people to notify, a list of things to do in an emergency, etc.)
- Single-purpose specialty databases -- meeting planners, home inventory organizers, shopping lists, etc.
- User-definable database programs -- let you define and create your own simple or complex database.
