Over the years at Pocket PC magazine we have debated, brainstormed, and then defined what PocketPCmag.com should be. Looking back, it is apparent that we created a site that we ourselves needed for fast research. At the same time, we believe that you, too, will find it an excellent starting place for information and answers about Windows Mobile devices.
Our current site
We created a site with the following features:
- Searchable archives of the magazine's content.
- An encyclopedia (database) of known Windows Mobile software and accessories.
- An award system to identify the best products in the database.
- A feature-by-feature comparison of Windows Mobile devices.
- An up-to-date listing and classification of the best Windows Mobile sites.
- Mobile (Pocket PC) access to the site (limited).
- A support forum.
- A place to subscribe, renew, and receive customer service.
- A place for vendors to advertise.
- Weekly e-mail newsletters with the latest information on newly introduced products, games, and Web sites.
Major advances in 2003
Last year we completely redesigned the look of the site to allow for quick and transparent access to its many features. Last year's other main addition, the new support and discussion forums, was an instant success. Users access these forums to troubleshoot problems and to share experiences.
