The quality and success of Pocket PC magazine flows from the practical wisdom of its readers and their contributions to the publication. This philosophy is reflected in the Pocket PC magazine online forums (http://www.PocketPCmag.com/forum/), a place where users of Windows Mobile devices can post comments, questions, discoveries, news, tips, rumors, and more. “From The PocketPCmag.com Forums” represents a small sample of the Pocket PC wisdom posted on the forums daily. We have edited this material for clarity and to avoid repetition. We have also added screen shots where appropriate. In many, but not all cases, the information will be presented in question and answer format. As with forum posts, you will occasionally find more than one answer to a question.
A very big “Thanks!” goes to all the forum members and moderators for sharing their insights with other users. Rich Hall.
Recommends Eagle Creek shoulder bag
These days I carry my iPAQ h5555 in its case inside my Eagle Creek Companion bag (http://www.eaglecreek.com/60100.html). The Companion bag is smaller than a typical laptop case, but large enough to carry all the stuff I take to and from work. The bag’s one large compartment is big enough for a few magazines, a newspaper, a few iPAQ Expansion Packs, cables, and more. There are enough smaller pockets to carry pens, CF and SD cards, keys, and the like. These pockets are secured with Velcro or zippers, and then covered by the bag’s large flap. The bag has several small pockets inside where I carry file folders, paperwork, etc. And the bag comes with a detachable padded shoulder strap that doesn’t have to be replaced with something better. The Companion has no interior partition and there’s not a lot of padding. At MSRP $65, the Companion is a bit pricy. But Eagle Creek bags are solidly built. I have owned many and only buy another when my needs change. I wholeheartedly recommend them. At least until I see one of the larger RoadWired cases. (I have no ties to Eagle Creek, except as a user.)

Food diary for a Pocket PC 2003
I had hoped to use my iPAQ h2215 as a food diary but I have had no luck in finding the necessary software; any recommendations?

Go to the Pocket PC section of the Tucows Web site (http://pda.tucows.com/pocketpc.html) and look in the Medical sub-section of the Education/Reference software, or do a search on “food.” I also remember seeing something on Handango.com. Again, do a search on “food.”

I use Diet & Exercise Assistant by Keyoe software (http://www.keyoe.com). Its food database is relatively complete and you can add new foods as needed. It can also track your exercise routine.
