Lil Sync - Mobile Power To Go
"Main Battery Very Low. To prevent possible data loss..." This is one error most mobile device users dread seeing, especially when you are away from a power source. I'll tend to use my devices less when traveling because of this. This is especially frustrating on long flights, when it would be nice to listen to music or watch videos on my Pocket PC. Luckily the folks over at Pocket PC Techs have a great solution.
The Pocket PC Lil Sync USB Mobile Power Pack is a portable power house that provides hours of extra battery life. It couldn't be any easier to use. There are two USB ports on it - one Mini USB port used to charge the battery and one "standard" USB (Type A) ports to connect to other devices.
When I recently flew to Florida (from California) I kept my iPAQ 210 plugged into the Lil Sync while I watched several Father Ted episodes. Not only did it keep my battery from draining, it actually had enough power to trickle charge the iPAQ - which is amazing considering the power drain of the VGA screen.
It isn't surprising when I travel to have multiple USB devices that need to be charged (bluetooth headset, a Smartphone, a couple Pocket PCs etc..). Having the Lil Sync around certainly helped as I would charge that over night then use it during the day to charge/power other devices.
I found the battery life for the Lil Sync is amazing. The 4400mAh Li-Ion battery lasts several days of use. It also retains the charge when not in use. I keep it in my truck and it sat for 2 months of no use and was still fully charged.
Before I had the Lil Sync I used to buy extended batteries for my devices. This can be a pain as they typically make the devices bigger and heavier. The extended batteries aren't cheap either, and of course every device uses a different batter so I couldn't use the same battery between devices. With the Lil Sync I no longer need to do that - one battery can be used on all my USB phones/devices. While the Lil Sync is bigger than most extended batteries, it's still very small and portable (2.75" L x 2.10" W x .86" H).
I highly recommend this to anyone needing a mobile power boost.
