Much as the new flagship model of Fujitsu-Siemens, the VGA N560 is in no way as revolutionary as was the previous flagship model, the Pocket Loox 720 of the same company, it's still probably the most featureful high-end Pocket PC with a really beautiful screen, which leaves the Dell Axim x50v/x51v screens in dust. (The Dell Axim x50v/x51v is the closest competitor to the N560 with clear advantages (the Intel 2700g GPU, the Compact Flash slot, the slightly bigger screen and the, in the US, radically lower price) and disadvantages (much worse screen, no USB host, bigger, heavier); this is why the N560 is always compared to the Axim models.) The new model will arrive to European shops early April; at least this is what is reported in this (German language) thread. The same thread also has some comparisons between the N520 (which has the same physical dimensions and hardware buttons/D-pad as the forthcoming N560) and the Acer 311, currently the smallest, but not the most powerful VGA Pocket PC available. The verdict of Joerg2, author of the comparison, is as follows:- the Acer is, physical dimension-wise, better than the F-S device. It's even smaller than the small iPAQ 4150.
- design-wise, the Acer is the winner over the F-S PDA. Joerg2 states it's even prettier than the 4150.
- Hardware buttons: the F-S buttons are better because of their size and location.
- Performance and functionality: the N560 is the winner: faster CPU, GPS, much better video playing capabilities.
