How do I create my own word completion dictionary?

Q: How do I create my own word completion dictionary so that my SIP-based input may be much faster? The built-in dictionary isn't adequate and/or it's in a different language and I don't want to enter all the words to the PPC by hand in order for them to be recorded in the user dictionary. A: First, look around on the Web – it may already have been written. For example, I've compiled a dictionary of the most widely used Finnish words (and of some other, rare languages; for example, Hungarian) ready to be used. See this thread for these dictionaries. If you aren't looking for dictionaries in these rare languages, nothing is lost – you only need to get a dictionary of the most frequently used words in the language you'd like to compile a dictionary of. To do this, you can use either the tool written by me and accessible here, or a new, free tool, MikkoPPC (the latter with less goodies - for example, no built-in word optimization). Please note that the documentation of the latter tool is a bit outdated; read my today's post here to have a more clear picture of the limitations of the word completion dictionary. If you look for a dictionary in a widely spoken language (English/German/Italian/Spanish/French/Japanese/Chinese etc), you may want to read the article here. (It has also been cross-posted to iPAQ HQ, AximSite, PPC Magazine, FirstLoox and BrightHand). The latter article is also worth reading if you want to install/use Pocket Word spellcheck dictionaries in different languages.
