hi, i've ipaq 214 and a wireless modem, i can connect my laptop to modem when i write the security key but ipaq can't! Can't it have an ip automatically as a pc, so what should i do about connection settings?
It would help if you could walk us through (tell us) each step you are doing as you are trying to connect. And then list any error messages you are getting exactly as they appear. The iPAQ series two hundred can be configured to pull an IP address. I am doing that with mine.
I have also been having issues with the 214, where it 'forgets' its settings. Most of the time, it is fine, and connects to my secure home network on activation. However, occasionally (and frequently enough that I have had to put the access key into a file to copy/paste) the ipaq resets the configuration to default. Sometimes, I am unable to pursuade the ipaq to 'remember' the settings even if I reset several times.
I also have issues connecting to an unsecured network where it simply does not allow me to connect.
Then suddenly, it works fine... There are no error messages (other than that the access key is incorrect).
