Hi, I had a Sharp YO-520 organizer. I recently purchased a IPAQ 2215. I saved all of my Names, Addresses and other info (from the Sharp YO-520) to Excel files. Is there anyway that I can import this info into Microsoft Outlook so that I do not have to type all of this contact info into my PocketPC manually??

In Outlook, do File > Import and Export. From the dialog select "Import from another program or file", then in the next panel, select "Microsoft Excel". You could also save your Excel file as a CSV and import that.

I don't know if you an help with this..this question is an Excel question...when I went to Outlook, Import, Excel, a box came up and said that it could not import because I needed to name the range of data you want to import. I have 4 columns in Excel worksheet that I was trying to import...Name, Address, Phone Number and Email with list of all of my contact info in the approperate columns. Any suggestions to make this work??? Thanks.

Try exporting your current Outlook contacts to an excel file and see how it labels the headers would probably be the quickest way.

Open your excel file...scroll down to your last row of data and highlight your 4 columns of data...use the scroll bars on the side to go back to cell A1...while holding shift, click in A1. This should end up with all your contact info highlighted (selected). then click in the "name box" which you are probably used to just seeing the cell reference displayed...it's in the top left area (if you hover the mouse over it, it displays "name box" in a dialog box. Once you have clicked in the name box, simply type in a name for the selected cells...in your case I would suggest "contacts"...close excel making sure to save the changes and then try your import procedure again to see if it sees the "contacts" range of cells. Good Luck,

Hi, I did this "Try exporting your current Outlook contacts to an excel file and see how it labels the headers would probably be the quickest ways". The Outlook contact headers go all the way to CN!!!! That is a-z, aa-az, ba-bz and ca-cn. Holy Crap!!! Anway I just have my contacts under header Name, Address, Phone Number and Email. Contacts has 4 headers just for name. All my info is under one header. Is there an easy way to make this work so I don't have to manually put all the info in? I would just use the Excel in the PocketPC but I do like the fact that you can find the names easier in Contacts with being able to but a couple letters in to pull up who you are looking for. Thanks for all of your help. This PocketPC thing is a whole new experience.....and a good one it is!!!
