US software for HP G750 folding keyboard

I have an HP G750 keyboard that I am attempting to use on a 5455. The keyboard itself works fine using the driver I found on the web .. but the problem is the special characters are re-mapped for the EU, it seems, using that driver. I have searched all over the web and have been unable to find another driver to correct the issue. Is there a legacy site somewhere that has the original install cd available for download? Or at least, the US drivers? Thanks

I assume you searched HP site, which is your best bet. They keep drivers and information about past products seemingly forever.

The version at the HP site is for NEWER versions of WinCE and will not work on the older versions.  There seems to be no legacy versions available there unless they have it burried somewhere (not unusual for HP to make finding files difficult.)

I had to install the SP 29689 UK version to even get the alpha/numeric working. That version works with the Pocket PC 2002se

I'll check with our UsedHandhelds team and see if we have early version. I reply again if we do.

Have you looked in websites like Driverguide.com? I searched for a driver for the HP G750, and I found one for the h3800 series iPAQ. Maybe you can find the drivers you are looking for there?

Yes, have tried there several times searching under HP G750, Compaq G750 and under folding keyboard, plus a search under the PDA number.  No luck.  The only workable driver I have found, I mentioned above .. the UK (EU) driver which re-maps the special character keys from the US configuration.

I can work around this by opening up the on screen keyboard to utilize the special chartacter keys and tap them in, but it is annoying to say the least and defeats the purpose of the folding keyboard.

The only solution I found was to go shopping on eBay and I finally found a sealed in original package keyboard WITH software.  Problem solved and and now have a keyboard for each of my iPaq PDA's that function in US English.

Thanks for the try, folks.

I've got the same problem. Any chance of getting the US drivers, or an iso of the install disk?

Thanks
