HTC Touch Diamond Interface Better than iPhone?
HTC has rightly been getting a lot of notice for its series of Touch devices, which some users feel are setting the standard for ease of use in the Windows Mobile arena. The latest entry is the HTC Touch Diamond, announced last week and due in North America later this year.
The main buzz is the interface, but the other specs look good too. It has a 528Mhz processor, 192MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage, a 2.8-inch VGA screen (640x480), Bluetooth 2.0, 802.11b/g WiFi, A-GPS support, an FM tuner with RDS, and accelerometer, a 3.2 megapixel camera, and a second VGA camera for videoconferencing. No word on pricing.

The initial European release will be limited to tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and dual-band HSDPA/W-CDMA. But the North American release will likely have more options.
The interface differs in that it has more of a 3-D feel, like the iPhone, as well as a touch-sensitive control for interacting with the device.
Of course, this device is in the ya-gotta-see-it category, and HTC has put a number of videos on YouTube. These include a very short overview of the TouchFlo 3D interface, and very brief demos of the cool new 3-D approach to contacts, photos & video, weather, and music. There’s also a device tour video, as well as a 30-minute video of the launch event in the U.K.
