Being a mobile professional is tough.

Good thing we’re tougher.

Let’s face it. No mobile professional wants to deal with numerous communication devices — each one more fragile than the next. That’s why Motorola designed the durable, all-in-one MC35 Enterprise Digital Assistant. Now you can combine the voice and data capabilities your business needs with the backend connectivity you want — all in a small, lightweight form factor that allows your people to make calls, send and receive email, connect to the Web, read bar codes and even get directions via GPS. Best of all, the MC35 is durable enough to handle all-day, everyday use in a variety of settings. It’s just another way Motorola puts Seamless Mobility in the palm of your hand. HELLOMOTO™.

News: 20 Million Windows Mobile 6 Devices In 2008?

In an article on windowsfordevices.com, Microsoft's sales predictions for 2008 and their stats for 2006 were discussed. The article said in part:

"At its Mobile and Embedded DevCon this week, Microsoft predicted that 20 million Windows Mobile 6-based devices will ship in 2008. Additionally, Entertainment and Devices Division (EDD) President Robbie Bach said sales of Windows Mobile grew 40 percent in 2006, making it the "fastest-growing phone operating system on the market."

Putting these numbers in context, ABI Research reported earlier this spring that 70.9 million Smartphones shipped in 2006, of which 40 million, or 56 percent, came from Nokia. ABI also estimated that the Symbian OS accounted for 73 percent of the market."

With strong sales in 2006, there's no reason why Microsoft's new Windows Mobile 6 operating system won't continue to boost sales of Windows Mobile devices in the next few years.

Tip#361: Use A Dashboard Or Windshield Mount In Vehicles

If you use your Windows Mobile device in the car to listen to music or to navigate via GPS, get a dashboard or windshield mount and keep the Pocket PC or Smartphone in the mount while you’re driving. It will be easier to see and you won’t have to fumble around to find it. Some device manufacturers offer these as optional accessories. If yours doesn’t, they are available from third-party vendors. Check out the following:

·    RAM Mounts

·    Arkon

·    Mobile Planet

Note also that many vendors of Windows Mobile GPS solutions also carry windshield or dashboard mounts as accessories.

Article: Inside The Wire!

In an article in the Apr/May 2007 issue of Smartphone & Pocket PC magazine, author discusses his recent trip to Iraq. He says in part:

"
A colleague and I recently went on a two-week trip to Iraq to install a computer system for the military and train them on how to use and maintain it. We spent most of our time "inside the wire" at a base near Tikrit, Saddam Hussein's home town located about 140 km northwest of Baghdad on the Tigris river. We were on a well-protected military base during our stay, and I must commend the soldiers, sailors, Marines, and airmen who work diligently to provide security there. That commendation should be doubled for the courageous ones who venture off-base to patrol the more dangerous parts of Iraq."
