"The Smartphone is supposed to be the future of Windows Mobile devices, but there are still far more games available for the Pocket PC. I have found several good new Smartphone games over the past few months and review five of them in this months column, including the action game SubQuest and the racing game Raging Thunder. I've thrown in a couple of good Pocket PC games and some interesting news items as well."

Early this month HTC unveiled the HTC Touch, which uses a touch screen for
easy finger-based navigation of your device, somewhat similar to the iPhone
and quite impressive. According to the
press release, it can actually distinguish between a stylus and finger,
and responds not just to location-based tapping but also to a range of
gestures, such as dragging your finger left or right.
The device runs Windows Mobile 6 Professional and has a 2 mega pixel camera. To get an idea of what makes this unit different, it’s probably best
simply to watch a video. Our publisher, Hal Goldstein,
posts about this new device in our blog and points to a
video demo by Matthew Miller. Also, Jason Dunn of Pocket PC Thoughts has
made a
video of his unboxing of this device and offers a demo. |
