News: Microsoft Mobile/Embedded Revenue Grows 28%

In an article on windowsfordevices.com, Microsoft's latest financial report for mobile revenue was discussed. The article said in part:

"Microsoft has reported financial results for the fiscal year ended June 30 showing total revenue of $51.12 billion, up 15 percent over the prior year. The Entertainment and Devices Division (EDD) reported annual revenue of just over $6 billion, a 28 percent increase over last year's $4.75 billion.

EDD comprises Microsoft's mobile and embedded devices (MED) software platforms (Windows Mobile, Windows CE, and Windows XP Embedded, and Windows Automotive), along with a number of consumer hardware and software products, including the Xbox 360 gaming console and the Zune multimedia player."

Review: Games Roundup: My Current Favorites

In an article in the Aug/Sept 2007 issue of Smartphone & Pocket PC magazine, author Allen Gall discusses different games that he likes. He says in part:

"The two most interesting titles I've been playing are Towers Tricks and Boney Boy, both featured in this issue. Towers Tricks is a platform scroller with an unusual design that makes each level a little unpredictable. It's actually an old game from the Commodore 64 era, but Byte@Hand's version of it makes it seem fresh and relevant today. Boney Boy is another quality platform scroller"-"one of the best I've seen since Rayman Ultimate."

Tip#371: Use SmartFilter To Display The Messages You Want In WM 6

The SmartFilter feature allows a user to display only those messages that relate to the filtering criteria entry. This lets the user display the information he or she is interested in. Note that WM 6 does not support synchronization of Contacts subfolders. However, you can use the SmartFilter feature to filter contacts by category. Note also that SmartFilter is available in other applications.

  1. While e-mail or Contacts is open, begin typing a word or phrase. The items displayed will be filtered to include only those that contain the phrase that has been entered.

  2. Keep typing until you see the message(s) you are interested in.
