News: Verizon To Launch Q9m Smartphone

In a post on boygeniusreport.com, author Joshua Karp discusses Verizon's eminent launch of the Q9m Smartphone, the successor to the Q. The post said in part:

"The Motorola Q9m is the successor to the "mighty" Q, and looks to be an improvement in just about every way. Verizon seems to really be pushing this as a V-Cast/music centric device (hence the "m" in the model number). What will it all cost, you ask? $349.99 on a two year contract, $399.99 on a 1 year contract, and $469.99 outright. These numbers are before a $50 mail in rebate, so you can have a new Q9m in your hands for around $300."

The next generation of Smartphones appear to be geared toward music and media playback.

Tip: Set An E-mail Follow-up Flag In WM 6

Messaging now supports the ability to set a follow-up flag to e-mail messages. The mobile user’s e-mail account must be hosted by an Exchange Server 2007.

Open the desired e-mail.

Select Menu >Follow up >Set Flag. (You can also set Complete Flag and Clear Flag.)

Article: T-Mobile Dash: Windows Mobile 6 Upgrade

"The Dash was originally released as a Windows Mobile 5 Smartphone, but T-Mobile has announced the availability of an upgrade for the device to the Windows Mobile 6 Standard software. The enhancements to the Windows Mobile software (from the perspective of a person using a non-touchscreen device) are as follows:

Minor enhancements to the UI, including larger, more three dimensional application icons, the addition of a search bar allowing you to access Windows Live services, and a larger window at the bottom of the Home screen displaying the next Calendar appointment.
The ability to receive and view HTML-formatted e-mail.
The ability to flag messages with a follow-up icon.
Simplified e-mail account setup procedures.
Support for the creation of up to 8 e-mail accounts.
Messaging Smartfilter to help find messages.
Shortcuts help make it easer to use Messaging.
Mobile Office for Smartphones. None-touchscreen devices now have "Mobile" versions of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to view and edit documents."
