News: Service cost-reduces Windows Mobile Phone Calls

In an article on windowsfordevices.com, iSkoot's announcement of the release of their VoIP service for Windows Mobile devices was discussed. The article said in part:

"iSkoot has announced availability of its voice over IP (VoIP) calling application for Windows Mobile handsets. ISkoot version 1.1 supports all Windows Mobile 5 and 6 phones and uses the Skype network, allowing many phone calls to be made at low cost, the company says."

This is good news for Windows Mobile phone users, who now have another option besides Skype for using VoIP.

Tip: Set Up A Shared Internet Connection (in WM 6 devices)

Internet Sharing enables USB or Bluetooth connectivity and connection sharing (both the PC and WM device share a connection).

Go to Start >Programs >Internet Sharing (WM 6 Standard: Start >Internet Sharing).
Then select the type of connection to a laptop PC (USB cable or Bluetooth PAN).

Review: Voice2Go V1.5....Tell Your PDA What To Do!

"Voice Command is still sort of a fringe add-on. Let's face it, walking around talking into your PDA like a robot, and having it execute commands is pretty geeky stuff! Years ago, I tried out the MS Voice Command product and thought it was pretty neat, if a bit flawed. I vaguely remembering it needing to learn my voice patterns, and I could never get it to work reliably. When I installed VITO Voice2Go, I had that sense of deja vu all over again, but this product surprisingly doesn't need to learn anything. You do however, need to refine the way you talk to it for it to work well."
