News: Tool Offers Enhanced Backup for Windows Mobile Devices

In an article on windowsfordevices.com, Sprite's new Backup 6.1 program is discussed. The article said in part:

"Sprite Mobile has announced backup and recovery software for Windows Mobile devices. Sprite Backup 6.1 allows all device data to be backed up to a storage device, one or more desktop PCs, or over the air, the company says.

Sprite Mobile claims that Microsoft's ActiveSync, which is normally used for device backup, only syncs contacts, email, and documents. If a device has to be hard reset, all third-party applications will have to be reinstalled and settings recreated, the company says."

The features on this new version of Backup seem like a nice improvement over previous backup options.

Everyone seems to wonder where wireless is going-whether it will be a blend of BlackBerry business functionality and iPhone pizzazz, or whether the iPhone will shift the mobile paradigm from business/task focused to an entertainment hub."

Article: Switching to a BlackBerry?

"I am now officially a belt-case wearing BlackBerry drone (the shame!). My manager approved my request for a wirelessly-connected corporate device, but our IT thugs will only allow Research In Motion's BlackBerry handhelds to have access to the corporate mail server. The IT guy received my new BlackBerry 8830 on a Friday, and had it all set up for me the following Monday."
