AdapTex for your Smartphone:
Type FASTER, Write MORE

AdapTex predictive software unlocks the capability of your Smartphone.  It dramatically speeds up text entry by suggesting relevant words and whole phrases, and allowing entry with a single touch.

AdapTex uses AdapTive Intelligence™ technology to suggest words that are relevant and contextually correct.  Instead of being based on statistics, AdapTex gives accurate predictions because it learns your vocabulary and adjusts to the context of your applications.  Independent usability tests have proven that AdapTex software reduces keystrokes by 60% and typing time by 35% from first use, and as it learns, these figures improve.

AdapTex is available for QWERTY and 12 key Smartphones on Windows Mobile 5.0/2003 platforms, for Pocket PCs, and also in different European languages.

"After using AdapTex for 3 weeks I realised it was alive, unlike your usual predictive software it adapts rather than predicts, which in my opinion is what it should be all about when it comes to the future of usability, it accurately adapts to your unique style of writing learning from you and visa versa, and this is just the beginning [.] Truly inspired." News: World's Smallest UMPC Unveiled by Digital Cube

In an article posted on MobileMag.com, author Michael Kwan discusses the newly announced i-Station 43 UMPC from Digital Cube. The article said in part:

"I always thought that the UMPC was supposed to fit somewhere between a PDA and a Tablet PC, but when Digital Cube unveiled the i-Station 43, they proclaimed that it was the world's smallest UMPC. Wouldn't that also make it the world's largest PDA, then?"

By emphasizing the size of the device over its features, it appears that Digital Cube is following the trend of increasing importance on device measurements.

Review: Sprint's Motorola Q Smartphone

In an article in the Apr/May 2007 issue of Smartphone & Pocket PC magazine, author Edward M. Zabrek reviews Sprint's version of the Motorola Q Smartphone. He said in part:

"Having reviewed Verizon's version of the Motorola Q in the Oct. '06 issue, I was very interested to see if Sprint's new version of the same device held any advantages. I've been a Sprint customer for a long time, but was temped to switch to Verizon when it introduced the Q. I decided against it because the pricing of Verizon's EV-DO wireless Web service was nearly three times as much as Sprint's."

Tip#354: Adding or subtracting a series of numbers

If you are adding or subtracting a series of numbers on the calculator, it can be a pain to enter all of them, and the possibility of a typographic error also increases. An easy way to do such a calculation is to type the series of numbers with the plus (+) sign or minus (-) sign between them, and an equal to (=) sign at the end of the series, in a Word document or in a note. An example of a series and the format it should be typed in is as following:

224+342+235-100+90+235=

Highlight the series on numbers by dragging the stylus across them, and then tap and hold on the numbers and select Copy from the resulting menu. You can then paste them in the calculator application by tapping Edit >Paste. The calculator application will perform the necessary calculations and display the result.

Jim Karpen's Hot Web Site of the Week: YouMail.com

YouMail asks, why should you have to live with a single outgoing voicemail message? Their free service replaces your carrier's voicemail system and allows you to individualize outgoing greetings for every person who calls your cell number. They do it by assigning greetings to the Caller ID of the incoming callers. Unknown or ID-blocked callers still hear your standard greeting.

YouMail is a full-featured voicemail system that simply redirects your incoming callers to YouMail rather than to your carrier. This redirect is accomplished by making a setup call from your handset. Then, to hear your messages, you dial YouMail instead of your carrier.

YouMail.com also allows you to manage all of your voicemail activities from their website in much the same way that CallWave or Vonage does. You can record greetings, listen to voicemail, and even e-mail blast voice-mail messages to friends. You can choose between standard voicemail notification or text or e-mail notification that provides you with a running log of your incoming voicemail callers and their return numbers.
